We departed our room in Lake Louise after our delicious brekkie. Our bags were loaded on the coach and we headed for Banff.<\/p>\n

Day 21 – Banff – Banff Springs Hotel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Just over an hour later, we arrived at the Banff Springs Hotel, bloody great castle actually. You can see it looming from a distance as it draws you in closer.<\/p>\n

We checked in and were offered to upgrade to gold level for $100 a night, knowing how much this entitled us too, we jumped at the chance. As our rooms were not ready we were shown to the lounge. We may get used to this.<\/p>\n

Day 21 – Banff – Gondola Ride<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We decided as it was a clear day to head up to the gondola which is up on Sulphur Mountain. Our concierge booked tickets and offered the hotel car service to drive us up there. OK if you insist. We arrive and head to the cable cars. Eight minutes later we get to the summit. OMG, the view of the Rockies is amazing. We can see for miles. Our hotel and the town of Banff is miniature, its freezing cold up there. We warm up on coffee and muffins. Then with a camera and head full of memories we make our descent.<\/p>\n

Day 21 – Banff – Banff Town<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A quick bus ride into town and we have a look around. A beautiful mountain town, one main road and plenty to look at. A quick visit to get a feel for the place, be back tomorrow for a longer look. We head back to the hotel for canap\u00e9s and wine. Tomorrow is dog sledding day, looking forward to that. Time to retire with our views of the mountains.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
