Had a lay-in and set about leaving Hong Kong. Our last breakfast finished up with chicken nuggets.
A culinary treat from our hosts (The Holiday Inn).
The flight departed at 16.00.
We left this early because the authorities have instigated a new security check at the airport. This security check is to deter protestors from entering the airport. Only travellers with a valid passport and travel document can enter the airport. This slows down the process of getting into the airport and halts the rights of protestors to protest.
Due to the time zone difference, our 11 hour flight landed in Vancouver at 13.00 on the 10th Jan. Mind bending.
Taxied over to the Hotel Granville Island on Granville Island.
Granville Island is a peninsula and shopping district in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is located across False Creek from Downtown Vancouver under the south end of the Granville Street Bridge. The peninsula was once an industrial manufacturing area, but today it is a hotspot for Vancouver tourism and entertainment. The area has received much acclaim in recent years for its buildings and shopping experience.
Went to the markets to grab some food and drink, before heading to the hotel for some well earned shut-eye.
