Kalgoorlie to Balladonia. We did a bit of tourist stuff in Kal before we left.

Having previously lived there it was good to return as a visitor. We went to the superpit, a massive gold mine just outside of Kal. When we lived there they used to blast at the mine everyday. Same time every day and it shook the town. One of today’s pix shows them digging the holes for the dynamite.

Boulder is a suburb of Kal with just as much mining history. We took a quick walk up the high street then headed to the car.
Kambalda a quick stop to look out over Lake Lefroy. Salt flats that stretched for miles. Quck photo op then back to the bitumen.

Norseman was our next stop only to refill the thirsty petrol tank and turn left onto Eyre Highway. Our stop for the night was a road house in Balladonia. Famous for the Skye Lab debris in the 70’s (1979). A quick bite, a couple of beers, then off to bed ready to continue east to Eucla tomorrow.
